It’s no longer just the punks and anarchists, the rebels and queers who are facing ostracization, it’s all of society by the top 1%. 

Having always been outsiders allows us to better see the expanding cracks in humanity but despite the superpowers we hold as misfits, we can’t fight against a looming dystopia alone. Whether your neighbour, teacher, mother or vicar like it or not, we’re all in this together now. We’re all gnawing monsters scurrying under the rocket’s shadow.

As always, Mignon tackles her target with fun and fury in equal measure. On A Blind Dark Horse naturally follows on from themes explored on her previous album (Toy’s Tantrum) – once a Joker bending the rules, now the Mad Hatter (‘This Crazy World’) but there’s no longer time for games…this new album is an urgent call for arms driven with added fervour courtesy of CLT DRP’s Daphne Koskeridou on drums. It’s now or never!

‘Tempest In A Teapot’ and ‘Spinning Wheel’ emphasise Mignon’s march against a world forced to teeter on the edge, even when life tries turning us around. However, with her familiar high-pitched vocals that are as ever part-Klaus Nomi and part-Kathleen Hanna (in all their savagery at the cabaret glory), it’s impossible to stray from her unstoppable cries for survival.
